What We Want To Achieve
We are committed to teaching children the beautiful game of soccer. We employ creative and imaginative games to ensure that we focus on necessary soccer skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting. In addition, campers develop balance, coordination, and agility. Our coaches are energetic and enthusiastic. They are great teachers and love working with children. They highlight a positive character and good sportsmanship. We try to achieve a relaxed, balanced, and FUN environment. We will instill a greater appreciation for the "Beautiful Game." We will enthusiastically complement players whenever they try. We will compliment them whenever they work on their "weaker foot." We will continually praise proper overall posture (bent legs, arms relaxed, steady head, good follow-through, etc…). When players get something right, we will ask them to remember "what it felt like." Players will leave camp feeling satisfied and confident!

Ensuring A Good Day
The secret to beginning a day at camp is to prepare correctly. I will always ensure that players start our sessions in good spirits, enthusiastic about playing soccer. I always start and end my practices with a fun exercise. I ensure that the players are happy and eager at the start, and I guarantee that they will be excited for the following day. This practice has served me well throughout thirty-four years of coaching.
What We Foster
Skills: Are the campers developing expertise, and are they progressively becoming more proficient in their soccer skills?
Friendship: Are the campers creating new friends within the camp?
Health: Are the campers physically able to meet the fitness requirements of the sport? Are they evolving good diet habits befitting a player?
Fair-minded Play: Do the players demonstrate by words and actions a commitment to sportsmanship? Do the players know and follow the rules of soccer?
Childhood Soccer FUN: Do campers smile and laugh? Do the campers seem excited about the opportunity to play? Parents should inquire, "Did you enjoy yourself today?"
Leadership: Are the campers being allowed to take on leadership tasks? Are the counselors teaching leadership?
Tactics: Are the campers investigating new tactics in games?
Roles in the Lineup: More important than learning a particular soccer position, are the campers learning about positioning on the field? Do all of the players get practice trying all the jobs on the pitch?
How do the campers respond when asked at the end of a day, "Did you give it your all?" We instill enthusiasm so all will answer, "Yes."

A Bethesda Soccer Camp.
A coed camp for 2nd to 8th-grade players. The program is at The Woods Academy School at 6801 Greentree Road in Bethesda. We will ensure that soccer players improve their natural abilities. We will use both indoor (Gymnasium) and outdoor training facilities to work on several different skills. Players will advance their ball handling, passing and shooting proficiencies. We will emphasize short-sided soccer games (5 v 5) to highlight the importance of individual control and ball possession.
